Totara subscription benefits

If you have a valid Product Subscription, Totara Learning Solutions will:

  • Provide you with a range of services through the Totara subscriber portal including documentation, support forums and training resources
  • Provide you with regular releases of new features
  • Provide you with updates and upgrades to further enhance your Totara installation
  • Provide security patches
  • In the unlikely event that you find an error with Totara's core functionality, provide support and fixes to keep things running smoothly

Further, your product subscription enables you (or a Partner on your behalf) to raise requests for help with any issues you may encounter involving core Totara functionality. They also enable you to contribute to future product development.

Product Subscriptions all include self-paced online learning, a comprehensive knowledge base and subscriber community forums.

Should you also require product Administrator Support, End User Support and Hosting Services for your Totara installation, we recommend you contact a Totara Partner. Totara Partners may also offer consultancy, training, customisation, and content development services.

Who is providing the subscription service?
While Totara services are provided by Totara Partners from throughout the world, the subscription service is provided by Totara Learning Solutions Limited, located in Wellington, New Zealand.

How long are the subscriptions?
The Subscription Term is annual. When the current Subscription Term expires, and as long as you agree, a new Subscription Term will automatically begin for a consecutive 12-month period. We will provide you with written notice of the upcoming expiration date.

What is the primary purpose of the subscriptions?
Totara Subscriptions ensure you have the latest security releases, patch updates, fully tested new feature releases, and error correction when required. Totara has significant enhancements that are supported via the subscription service. The Totara Product Maintenance Subscription is very similar to a Support and Maintenance agreement you might purchase with proprietary or closed software. The big difference is that while you are benefiting from the support and maintenance of the product you are not purchasing software licenses – thereby delivering huge cost savings.

Can I cancel my subscription?
Although we'll be sad to see you go, you can cancel your subscription at any time before the subscription renewal date. If you do decide to cancel, there is no refund once we have delivered the Totara software to you. You will only be responsible for charges incurred up until the end of your current subscription term.

The termination of support will not affect your usage of your currently installed Totara Product but will cease any updates, maintenance or support services. As a company offering commercial open source solutions, the last thing we want is to lock customers into using TotaraLMS when you have decided to do something else.

Can I change my subscription plan?
Yes. If the number of users you have increases or decreases in line with our different subscription bands then just let us know and we can adjust your subscription accordingly.

What types of payment do you accept?
Most subscriptions are ordered via Totara Partners. You can also order a subscription directly with a purchase order and we will invoice you. Delivery is within 24hours of receipt of funds. Or get started immediately by credit card.

Will I receive an invoice if I pay by credit card?
Yes, we will send you a tax invoice within 2-3 business days.
